2020: A new year with new opportunities!

The first day of a new year is a time for fresh starts and new resolutions. With 365 days ahead, there’s an opportunity to make new progress, avoid past mistakes, and become a better person in all aspects of life.

My resolutions include being a loving husband, a devoted son, a supportive brother, a dependable friend, and an all-around good person. I aim to take care of my responsibilities and strive to do better each day than I did the day before.

Looking back on 2019, I’ve emerged a little worn but stronger and, some might say, wiser. I’ve learned a great deal about many things and my advice to others is to do your best, be honest, trust yourself and those you love, and if you don’t know something, don’t be afraid to say so. Often, others will understand and offer help.

I ended the year unemployed, but I’m confident that better opportunities are on the horizon. With a new voice and a new perspective, I’m ready to make new mistakes and learn new, amazing things.

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
